Please message us to see it all. A string-bound photo album of cloth covered flexible boards (with "Pictorial Log / USS Texas" stamped to front) holding about 62 real photo postcards loosely slipped into paper slots to the rectos and versos of 16 black paper leaves. Album measures approximately 11 1/2 x 7 1/4. A lovely, singular photo album of more than 60 scarce surviving real photo postcards documenting life aboard and surrounding the USS Texas between about 1915 and 1917, immediately following its involvement in the Tampico Affair in 1914 and prior to its entering into WWI service in 1918.

Examples of the cards do not widely appear in commerce (and those that do are at eye-popping prices). At least one contains a hand-written message to its verso, seeming to identify the compiler as a sailor named Lester Joseph Anthony Burns b. About 1896 of Brooklyn, who is recorded as having entered the Navy in 1913 and spent some 202 days aboard the Texas ending in June of 1917 (in documents found by us on ancestry ; we're happy to screenshot them for you if you don't use the service). Please don't hesitate with questions or to request the link to additional images and thanks for looking!
